Kindred Screen is built to respect your privacy. There are no accounts and no sign-up, and your taste profile lives on your device.
On your device only: the titles you love, your aversions, thumbs up/down, your watchlist, saved awards ballots, and settings. This never leaves your device except as described below, and we don't keep a copy.
To generate recommendations, the app sends the titles and genres you enter (and a country code for availability) to our backend, which uses:
These inputs are used only to create your recommendations. Our backend does not store them and does not associate them with any account or identity — there is no account. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising or tracking.
No name, email, contacts, precise location, tracking identifiers, or analytics tied to you.
When your inputs are processed by Google (Gemini) and TMDB, those providers handle the request under their own privacy terms:
Tapping a "where to watch" or trailer link opens that third party (a streaming service, Apple TV, YouTube, or a watch page), which is governed by their own policies.
Kindred Screen is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
